History of Mortalis

RagnarosMortalis was formed in the days of EverQuest by a group of friends on the Antonius Bayle server, with the Darkwind guild as their main competitors for endgame content, Mortalis was the only guild capable of defeating the Emperor of Ssra Temple. By the time World of Warcraft was released, Mortalis went on to make their new home on the Emerald Dream realm preparing to come up against Blizzard's first raid zone - Molten Core. And eventually beating Blackwing Lair and some of Ahn'Qiraj's content that soon followed after.

ArthasAs summer arrived, Mortalis came to a stop at the Twin Emperors due to diminishing attendance, not all was lost as both Mortalis of Emerald Dream and Ad Nauseum of Runetotem decided to merge together on Nordrassil under Mortalis, and nobody could really ask for a better merge as we continued to plough through the rest of the content with ease, with the C'Thun kill being the biggest adrenaline rush of our merger. Some would say that the arrival of Mortalis on Nordrassil strengthened the numbers of players and progression guilds on Horde side.

Eventually, we got Naxxramas, but due to time constraints with it being so close to The Burning Crusade becoming imminent, we only managed to clear all wings except for The Four Horsemen in the Military Wing, until we disbanded and reformed under Precedent to drop our raiding numbers from 40 to 25. The success didn't stop there however as we got realm firsts from SSC/TK to Black Temple. We also cleared up to M'uru in Sunwell with rising competition from the likes of Valio and Fallen Legion going for server firsts which we soon lost out on. Eventually some of our core raiders retired from the game and new trials were less than impressive that we decided to call it a day. Killing M'uru and Kil'Jaeden with the new talents revamp and the -30% HP nerf wouldn't really count anyway.

With the Wrath of the Lich King upon us, Mortalis is once again reincarnated with 4 nights of 25-man raiding per week. Some of us do however use Achievements as a source for Hard-mode and fun content that we do on the off-raid nights, such as 10man The Undying, Twilight Zone, and 6 minute Malygos kills (2010 edit: this was during Tier 7 content). We are always looking for exceptionally skilled raiders to bolster our ranks in preparation for Heroic Icecrown Citadel to foresee the fall of the Lich King.
